MSI-motherboards: List of new B660
Currently, there are only motherboards for the buyers of one of the new Intel Alder Lake CPUs (socket 1700) with the overclocking chipset Z690, which cost at least 190 euros. Although all currently available ALDER LAKE processors are over-handable — who wants Alder Lake performance without overclocking the CPUs, currently has no choice as an expensive motherboard.
MSI motherboards come with B660 chipset
But soon, main plans with other chipsets will also come to the market, which may be cheaper. From MSI, a list of motherboards has now emerged, which will offer the new B660 chipset, as well as WCCFECTECH reports. The list also contains prizes that you should not expect too much, which is not too much, as far as affordable motherboards.
In addition, there may not be a single model that still supports DDR4-RAM — ALDER LAKE can also handle DDR5-RAM, but the new storage locations are currently sold out and when there was still bar to buy, significantly more expensive per gigabyte As a DDR4 RAM.
Normally, for the DDR4 versions of the main boards at the socket 1700 still the abbreviation DDR4 at the end of the model name is included in the list, this abbreviation is not only represented — but that does not exclude that in the end but DDR4 variants of the new MSI -Main boards will come to the market.
But what are the prizes? It starts with the MSI Pro B660M-E for $119, follow more Pro models for 129, 139, 189 and 209 US dollars. There are also four Mag models from 199 US dollars with the MSI Mag B660 Tomahawk Wi-Fi for 259 US dollars at the top. A larger selection below 150 euros should not be expected for the time being.
Nevertheless, it shows that you can easily get started even much cheaper without overclocking ambitions. In addition, some more expected Alder Wake-ups will not be overclockable anyway. Here it would be annoying if you only find the expensive overclocked chipset Z690 in the market.
