5 best video game helmets 2021
After the controller — or the keyboard and mouse — a good helmet is the best friend of the player. Okay, a monitor or quality television is also up there. But today we are talking about helmets, and there are many affordable options.
When you decide which helmet to buy, think about your priorities. Are you an audiophile that wants features such as surround sound? Do you want the convenience of a wireless connection? If you do not like clutter, remember that some helmets can be used with multiple devices, such as a PC and a console. Although no one probably uses the microphone for high-end recording, players always want a clear sound. The ability to detach the microphone is an interesting feature.
No helmet is perfect, but all helmets in our list are feature-rich and have an exceptional sound. They are all comfortable and well done, and we think they are all excellent choices as the best game helmet available.
In addition to being comfortable and robust, the Racer Kraken V3 Hypersense includes a haptic return for your ears. In theory, it allows you to really identify these sneaky enemies above and around you. Although I found it a little random, it's an interesting feature when it works. The Racer Kraken V3 has a removable microphone. It also has RGB lights that synchronize with Racer mice.
These are closed ear headphones. Although they do not have any noise abolition, they still block the outside world. They connect via a USB cable, which means they can be used at a time with a PC and consoles. The only disadvantage for console users is that the cable is a little short.
The Turtle Beach Recon 500 shares many features with the Racer Kraken V3. This is a closed ear design with powerful 60 mm speakers and a detachable microphone. The headphones are slightly less luxurious than those of the racer, but the helmet is a little lighter. It's a perfect fit if you wear glasses too.
Instead of a USB connection, the Recon 500 uses a quality braided cable and a 3.5 mm jack. This makes the helmet incredibly versatile. You can plug them on your laptop or mobile devices, or on the audio port of your controller.
Our criticism described the EPOS H₃ of Swiss Knife of Helmets. The reason? These headphones can cover just about any situation. They connect wirelessly via Bluetooth or using the 3.5 mm cable. This means that they work with all your equipment, they are therefore an excellent solution if you want only one set of cans.
They have a fantastic sound with all kinds of games and music. The only disadvantages could be the price — they are more expensive than others on our list, but still reasonable — and could be more suitable for users with smaller heads.
The Hyper Cloud Stinger Core has a better than decent sound for an economical price. It has a dynamic driver and a frequency response from 10 Hz to 21 kHz, a closed ear design and is lightweight. The quality of construction is not as impressive as some other headphones on our list, but it remains robust. The microphone is not detachable but folds when not in use.
This is a strictly wireless headset and is coupled with the Xbox. It comes with a short charging cable and offers an impressive 17-hour battery life.
Although it synchronizes wirelessly with the Xbox Series X / S, Lucid sound LS35x also includes a 3.5 mm braided cable, which makes it useful beyond the game. An interesting feature is that the micro pole is detachable, but there is another integrated microphone. This means that the headset can be used plugged into a smartphone and that the controls are intuitive and easy access.
The LS35x has a crystalline sound and, according to our criticism, it is so comfortable that I often forgot that something rested on my cabin. The only disadvantage of the helmet is its price. It's the same thing as EPOS E3. If you are mainly an Xbox player, we recommend this helmet.
